Do you really believe they would give away money?

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I just can't believe what I receive the other day... this on my e-mail.

This was on the 9:00 o'clock news the other night and this works

THIS TOOK TWO PAGES OF THE TUESDAY USA TODAY - IT IS FOR REAL
PLEEEEEEASE READ!!!! it was on the news!

This thing is for real. Rest assured AOL and Intel will follow Through
with their promises for fear of facing a multimillion-dollar class
action suit similar to the one filed by Pepsi-Cola against General Electric not too
long ago.

Dear Friends;
Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this, You will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test. When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will Track it (If you are a Microsoft Windows user)? For a two weeks time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00 For every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and ! for every third person that receives it, You will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check.

Regards
Charles S Bailey General Manager Field Operations
1-800-842-2332 Ext. 1085 or 904-1085 or RNX 292-1085

I thought this was a scam myself, But two weeks after receiving this e-mail and forwarding it on. Microsoft contacted me for my address and within days, I receive a check for $24, 800.00. You need to respond before the beta testing is over. If anyone can afford this, Bill gates is the man.

It's all marketing expense to him. Please forward this to as many people as possible.
You are bound to get at least $10, 000.00. We're not going to help them out with their e-mail beta test without getting a little something for our time. My brother's girlfriend got in on this a few months ago. When I went to visit him for the Baylor /UT game. She showed me her check. It was for the sum of $4, 324.44 and was stamped 'Paid in full'

Like I said before, I know the law, and this is for real. Intel and AOL are now discussing a merger which would make them the largest Internet company and in an effort make sure that AOL remains the most widely used program, Intel and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Intel can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period. Try it; What have you got to lose ! For what Its worth die vrou werk saam met my suster (die bankrekening afskrif).

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Intel can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $203.15. For every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $156.29 And for every third person that receives it , you will be paid $17.65.
Within two weeks, Intel will contact you for your address and then send you a check..
I thought this was a scam myself, but a friend of my good friend's Aunt Patricia, who works at Intel, actually got a check of $4,54323 by forwarding this e-mail.

It works I just checked, my bank account and found extra R20 000

U won't believe it ...I just had a look at my bank statement & there was an extra .wait for it .......50 000.00 in my account .this really works .....just do it ...I love u Douglas ..thank u some much for thinking of me & this GREAT gift !!!

Probably, most of you have already received this same e-mail too. Actually, the first time I received this was two or three years ago. I can't believe that it is still circulating up to this day.

What's more surprising for me is that, the person who sent it was not really the type who would not believe in these kind of things. Is he believing this then? I don't know.

I hope not.

Do you really believe they would give away money?

SponsoredReviews now takes 50% from the Advertiser's fee

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I logged in to my SponsoredReview.com account the other to check on some writing opportunities and bid for them. I went through my usual routine, clicking on those ads which interest me and submit my bid.

After about three bids, I noticed the portion of the box showing the share that the blogger gets for every writing opportunity. I saw that if I bid $20, I will get $10. This used to be $13.

I went back to the homepage of SponsoredReview to see if there are any news there. Sure enough, I found this on the main page.

In order to continue expanding our marketing, sales, customer service and programming efforts and to recoup other expenses related to increased costs we have decided that it is time to increase our transaction rate by 15% from 35% to 50% (your share will now be 50% versus 65%). This increase will allow us to continue expanding our software functionality as well as grow our marketing and sales efforts in order to increase the number of opportunities available to bloggers. As it stands we currently incentize advertisers to make bulk purchases by giving them up to 20% discounts. At the end of the day these incentives account for a large portion of the opportunities that are created in the system. Unfortunately those incentives also reduce our profit margin and make it tough to expand functionality and keep up with sales and marketing initiatives. We will continue to provide large incentives to bulk buying advertisers in order to encourage volume

The increase will take effect on January 13th, 2010. This increase will not affect previously made bids, your previous bids will continue to pay 65%.

If necessary, please make any required adjustments to your blog prices and new bids in order to compensate for the increased transaction fees. We thank you for your continued participation in our system and assure you that this increase will, over time, have a large effect on the number of paying opportunities available to all bloggers.

Wow! Imagine that! 50% from your work taken off from you. As far as the advertisers are concerned, they are paying you the right amount. But SponsoredReview has to increase its share.

Man, the times must be really hard these days.

Online payments security

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

While this blog is about making Money Online, it cannot be helped that it will always be on the 'receiving' end, so to speak. It is inevitable that sometimes we need to make some payments online too, such buying e-books online, registering on those affiliate membership, upgrading online accounts and more.

But how do make sure that you are making a secured online payment?

Making online payment secure is the topic of one of the topics submitted on web-articles.info. It deals mostly about the security of bank's online payment system, and how, so far their system is one tough security that cannot be breached.

But of course, any security is only as strong as its weakest link. That is what was suggested as the article progresses. Because while the codes of the systems are tough to crack, 'insiders' can easily break into it do some hocus-pocus on their clients' accounts. Uh-oh, not encouraging.

To be sure, never trust your username and password to anyone, not even to your banker. And when you access your accounts or make your payments online, be sure to log-in on the official log-in page of the site. Be wary of those e-mails asking you to change your password, because they could actually be phishing attempts. To be sure, type the URL on browser, instead of clicking on any links in your email.

Making online payments is definitely convenient, but it also has its risk. So be careful, be sure, be safe.

Modern Warfare 2 coming out soon

Friday, September 18, 2009

Just a buzz for all gamers out there, watch out for the release of the Modern Warfare 2 this coming November. And if you enjoyed the first edition, you will definitely enjoy this updated release where there's total destruction and high impact actions.

This new version is available in both PS3 and Xbox 360 version, so you will not be left out whatever game platform you are using. And if you pre-order now, you can be sure to get your version in the platform of your choice. And course, the PC version is also available.

Now, if you have all platforms, good for you. The only problem is that you might have a hard time where to play. Which one is really the best platform? Of course, it will all depend on your personal preferences.

As for me, I still prefer the high resolution screen on TV, as compared to the sometimes pixelated graphics on the PC monitor. But if your PC has a video card and high memory, I'll bet you will also enjoy the crisp reception like what you'll get on TV.

At any rate, what's important is you will enjoy the game, Modern Warfare 2 coming out this November. Don't be left behind and be the first to play this new and updated war game. Reserve now.

How to make money with affiliate marketing

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Just sharing with you a video presentation on YouTube by Frank Furness about making money on affiliate marketing.

It talks about how to make money at Clickbank. Honestly, I really don't know about Clickbank (I just created my account now because of the video) so I will just let Frank do all the talking... and let us learn together.

Indeed, he is promoting his own products, but the principles he explained can be applied to any product on Clickbank.

So I guess, I will be exploring this online opportunity now.

Running Entrecard on auto-cruise

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Great new changes has been happening to Entrecard since it has been acquired by Ziprunner. While I am not really skeptic or cynical at that development then, it doesn't really matter much to me as I was not active with EC anymore then.

After an introductory post from the new 'admin' a great news came - the removal of paid-ads!

Yes!

That was one of the reasons I became inactive with EC, I even remove the widgets of some of my personal blogs because paid-ads are appearing in the blogs even if you didn't approve them! You have to log in and reject them to get rid of them.

Next came the news on the new ways to earn and spend EC credits. Hmm... I will sink my teeth into this later.

And the latest is the improvement and changes in Entrecard! And I've never been so glad!

My favorite is the auto-approving of adverts requests. I was hesitant at first about this option... but come to think of it, I have been approving all adverts ever since I can remember! So this is a good update for me, and as the news said, it allows you to run Entrecard on auto-cruise.

I haven't been really active lately, so this feature would save me a lot of time. And once I log in, I can just concentrate on dropping and placing ads (I hope most choose the auto-approve option)

Well, with these developments, I might put back the EC widgets on my personal blogs anytime soon.

For more updates and information, check out the Entrecard blog.

Touch a blogger: Tie a Yellow Ribbon for Cory Aquino

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

When I find a worthy initiative, I try to get all my blogs involved. It doesn't matter if the project is not withing the blogs niche.

Such initiative is the Touch a Blogger movement project by Reyna Elena and the Barrio Siete group, asking all bloggers to 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon' on their blogs as a symbol of support and prayer for our former president Cory Aquino.

I am inviting other bloggers to take part in this project too.

  1. Create an entry entitled: “Touch a blogger: Tie a yellow ribbon for Cory Aquino!“. A link to this original entry will be appreciated, but is not required.
  2. Post a yellow ribbon in your blog for President Cory Aquino. Whatever form of yellow ribbon that your creative imagination can come up with.
  3. Invite other bloggers to tie a yellow ribbon for Cory.

A sad update on this news today, August 1, 2009

Corazon Aquino passed away today at 3:18 AM, she was 76. She will always be remembered, and my her soul rest in peace

...please pray for our country too madamme Cory.

Credit and debt consolidation for better debt management

Friday, July 24, 2009

Still in the red because of the multiple debts that you had acquired before the global economic recession struck? You are not alone, many were caught off guarded as they were used so much their careless habits that adding purchases to their already maxed out credit card debt has become a hobby... if not a disease.

But it is really too late now to blame our self and saying that "we could have saved for the rainy days" so to speak. What we need to do now is to find some solutions to the compounding problems brought about by the multiple debts. You know - interests, penalties, lawsuits, negative credit rating and more.

If there weren't too many loan accounts to handle, maybe our finances would be easier to manage. There is a way to take all those multiple loan accounts and consolidate them into one account.

All you need is to find a credible company that offers debt consolidation or credit consolidation services. Through their assistance, you will know how to negotiate with your creditors and turn all those loans into one account which you manage conveniently.

Remember, so much for blaming and self-pity. What you need to do is act now and find ways to consolidate your multiple debts.

Entrecard acquired by Ziprunner

Friday, July 17, 2009

I received an email alert the other day that says Entrecard has been acquired by Ziprunner.

Now because I haven't been active in Entrecard lately, I really didn't give it much attention. But when it sinked in, I realized that I should be concerned... even though I am not active there.

I haven't been active because there where some implemented changes which really didn't appear likable to me, like paid ads appearing on widget and 'privatizing' the forum.

Now with these development and Ziprunner at the front, could this mean a better Entrecard and a better deal for us members?

Here's hoping that it is for the better... because although I haven't been active (dropping, advertising and all), I've met a lot of great bloggers through this community.

Contact form from Kontacr

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

While you can always hyperlink a "mailto:youre-mail@site.com" it is not really safe as web crawlers are bound to get your e-mail account and before you know it, you'll be receiving tons and tons of spam e-mails. It's good to have a Contact Me form.

Having a Contact Me form is the best way to go if you want people to have a way to reach you aside from the Comments on every post.

The one that I'm using now is from Kontactr, a very useful one as you don't have to compromise your e-mail on site and web crawlers won't have a way to find it. Another good thing about this FREE form is the 'verifier' that saves you from spam bots.

Just in case you don't have a contact form yet, try this one from Kontactr.

Special Drawing Rights - road to an alternative currency?

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People’s Bank of China, is adamant in pushing for an alternative international currency, this is what I stumbled upon on CNN. He is pushing for the wider use of International Monetary Fund’s Special Drawing Right or SDR.

This is the first time that I’ve heard about SDR, it is, according to the article, is an accounting unit based on the euro, Japanese yen, pound sterling and U.S. dollar.

Wikipedia defined SDR as a “basket of major currencies used in international trade and finance. At present, the currencies in the basket are, by weight, the U.S. dollar, euro, Japanese yen and pound sterling.” Adding further that “the amounts of each currency making up one SDR are chosen in accordance with the relative importance of the currency in international trade and finance. The determination of the currencies in the SDR basket and their amounts is made by the IMF Executive Board every five years.”

Quite a mouthful of information, I must say, Zhou said that the expanded use of SDR would ease dependence on any one currency and limit the effects of a single country’s fiscal policies. He could probably refer to the U.S. dollar and its effect on the world market.

President Barack Obama, for his part, said that there is no need for a global currency.

Next week, G-20 or Group of 20 will have their economic summit in London and China’s suggestions might preempt any discussions that will tackled by the delegates. G-20’s formal name is the Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, and they represent 85 percent of world’s gross domestic product.

Would an alternative international currency be really beneficial to all countries?

Let’s just wait and see.

Your text message could cost P0.10 more

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

This is not good... not good at all.

The text messaging could cost P0.10 more once the proposal of solons to increase text messaging fee is approved.

Some congressmen are seeking to hike text messaging fee as they see it as a good source of additional funds. Funds that could be channel to the government's free education program.

Yeah right. More funds means... more funds.

"There are more people texting than calling," Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez told reporters after presenting the proposal in a recent panel hearing. He added that with the increased text messaging fees, they could raise P200 million daily, which could be used to finance free education nationwide.

Suarez is the House Oversight committee chair. He said however that there is no guarantee that the telecommunications companies (telcos) will not pass on the additional cost to mobile phone subscribers. He can only appeal to the conscience of the telecommunications companies to shoulder the cost instead of passing in to the consumers.

Camarines Norte Rep. Liwayway Vinzons-Chato, a former Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner, is also seeking to charge additional fees on mobile phone calling and internet costs should the text message cost hike is approved.

Telcos representatives apprehensive about the proposal, stating that there may be difficulties in implementing it. Lawyer Rodolfo Salalima, chief legal counsel and senior adviser of Globe Telecom, questioned how the additional cost will be applied since telcos offer various unlimited text and call promos.

They said however that they are willing to sort out issues during the technical working group meetings headed by Vinzons-Chato.

Like I said... this doesn't look good at all.

Send Money OnLine through Friendster

Friday, March 13, 2009

Did you know that you can send and receive Money Online through Friendster? That is through the e-wallet facility of Globe Telecomunications, the G-Cash.

Actually, I received the text alert from Globe early this year although I haven't actually tried it yet. But as for G-Cash, I have tested it and found it to be a very convenient way of sending payments as well as receiving them.

Now, Globe and Friendster have tied up to make the electronic payment facility available to the users to the popular online social network.

That is only following a basic marketing scheme... go where the market is... in this case, they are mostly at Friendster.

For those who have tried the e-payment through the said social network, I would love to hear feedbacks.

I would also follow this up with a thorough write-up once I have tried the said facility myself.
