Just when everyone thinks that the Pacquiao - Hatton match is over, the latest news again reports the contrary - Manny Pacquiao has signed the contract and the Pacquiao-Hatton match is finally on!
This is a great news for all boxing fans all over the world, especially us Filipinos who are always eager to watch Pacman in action.
But the news that we have in the previous days have somewhat painted a different picture for the boxing match as well as people's perception of the Pambansang Kamao.
It's all about the money. That is how it appears to be, because the main reason for the negotiation to be stalled is the talk about money - the split on the match purse.
Fans would like a boxing match and they really couldn't care less whether how the proceeds of the fight is going to be split between the two fighters.
Boxing is about pride... and not about greed.
With the sport being highly commercialized, is there still a sense of pride in winning the match?
By the way, is there a title at stake in this match?
Or is this just for show too?
Is the deal really about the money? Pacquiao-Hatton match
